Yesterday's Cross Country Race

Yesterday, the Cross Country teams traveled to Van Cortlandt Park for another in their series of meets this season. The weather was perfect for cross country, overcast and cool (the rains thankfully came after we had boarded the bus for home after the meet), and our runners did not disappoint. Nearly every EMS runner posted a seasonal best time and both the boys' and girls' teams had their best showings. The boys finished 3rd out of nineteen schools and only a mere five points out of 2nd place. The girls, running with a complete team of five runners for the first time this year, tied with Fieldston for 2nd place out of thirteen teams. The Eagles still have four races left and the runners are gearing up for the championship meet on November 10, back at Van Cortlandt Park. ~Coach Cooper
