This morning two fifth graders, Veronique and Riley, noticed a small animal in one of the science room backpacks hanging on the wall. They said "There's a mouse in the backpack." When I investigated I noticed that it was, in fact, a tiny flying squirrel. We took it outside and it ran up the side of a huge white oak tree in back of the science room.
