The Office of Admissions and Financial Aid hosted its inaugural New Parent Dinner last Friday evening (May 20). As the rain finally cleared, families new to EMS, as well as current families with new siblings, gathered under the Morrow House portico for a reception followed by a buffet dinner in the Russell Berrie Music Room. Over half of the newly enrolled families were in attendance along with members of the senior administration and the Parents Association. The speakers were myself, Ted Hunter, Vice President of the Board of Trustees, and Aaron Cooper, Assistant Head of School. The event was hugely successful. To me, it seemed clear from the start that the New Parent Dinner succeeded in its goal of initiating connections and dialogue between our new and current families, and offering a first formal welcome to these newest members of our community.
