A Jingle Parade In Chilton House

The three-year-olds in C-1 went caroling in the hallways this week. They used jingle bell bracelets they made and strolled through the hallways singing “Jingle Bells” and “Frosty the Snowman.” As they visited all of the CH classrooms, the Kindergarten and the PreKindergarten children often joined them in song. It was truly a joyous way to celebrate their place in the Chilton House community and a charming “holiday greeting” to all of their CH friends.

A Taste of Chanukah for Prekindergarten

A wonderful celebration of Chanukah was enjoyed in Ms.Leff's and Ms. McConville's Prekindergarten class.  EMS Music Chair Amelia Gold, mother of Noah, shared her musical talent by playing the violin, demonstrating dances, and sharing stories with the children.  Eating the latkes and the sufganiyah jelly doughnuts, was also a highlight!

Prekindergarten: Wrappin' and Churnin'

"We read The Gift of Nothing and the children wrapped empty boxes to put under the Christmas tree in Chilton House.  We also made butter in jars and enjoyed it with our pasta during cooking.  The children saw a liquid (cream) form into a solid (butter)."  ~ Mrs. Aslam

Students Continue to Collect for the Center for Food Action and the Grieco School

Over the past few weeks students and teachers have been donating food, money, and gifts to the CFA.  Students have been using free time to help wrap gifts in the Theatre.  On Friday, Jennifer Rothman from the CFA spoke at the Morrow House Assembly.  Ms. Rothman and Maxie Anthon, the EMS 8th grade student who spearheaded this year's initiative, urged students to prepare "Snack Packs" for Grieco School students, and students will dress down on Thursday and Friday of this week as they bring in food for the "Snack Packs."  See this link to learn more about the CFA "Snack Pack" program: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BClsT_3ki4w

EMS kindergarten students are flying high

Recently, after reading informational books about pilots and airports, our kindergartners built their own airport using hollow blocks. They also created tickets and passports to document their travels, and folded paper airplanes that filled the sky of their busy airport.
