Tornados

C3 had a wonderful time last week, talking about different kinds of weather with Ms. Orloff! The children had the opportunity to learn about tornados and observed a model tornado experiment. (Post: Mrs. Su)

Iron Chef Chellenge

CAN YOU THINK OUTSIDE THE BAG? OR WILL YOU BE ASKED TO PACK UP YOUR KNIVES AND GO?

John Sadaka, a professional event planner and President of Sadaka Events & Productions, LLC, was the guest chef at the Cooking Club. Mr. Sadaka presented the students with a "Can You Think Outside the Bag" challenge. Each team of four delegated a team captain and utilized all ingredients in each grocery bag to create a new dessert and ice flavor-that has not hit the market yet. The teams also had to decide on a name for the new ice cream flavor. The focus of this fast paced challenge was problem-solving, hands on management and delegating skills. The teams were judged on creativity, presentation and taste. The challenge was judged by Dr.Lowry, Mrs. Di Paolo and Mr. Malmstrom, who had a very tough assignment. Team A won the ice cream competition with their new flavor, "Cookie Madness" and Team B won the cake competition with their "More, More, More" creation. (Post: Mrs. Fiocchi)
