The core principles of the TFPG Program are in teaching children self-responsibility, intrinsic motivation, and inclusion-style learning. The children in the Lower School had many opportunities to put these principles into real play situations. At assemblies led by Dr. Hinson, students were taught inclusive style games to play. He is a leading expert in creating safe environments at recess in schools all over the country.
According to Dr. Hinson, few people understand or value that role play has in the development of children. Fortunately for the children at EMS we let them play as it motivates, challenges and sparks children's creative spirit.
