Rainwater Collection and 3rd-Grade Lenape Garden

"Last semester the Conservation Club began installing a "rainwater harvesting system." The system is now completed. Water is collected from the "Science Shed" roof and the roof of the "Maintenance Shed" and directed into the buckets. Spigots, installed by the Conservation Club, will allow students to drain the collected water for use in the garden. As well this season, the third graders will be planting a traditional Lenape mound garden with corn, beans and squash (shown below). The tires will be used to grow potatoes." ~Gary Lyon (Photo: G.
